The Dramático continues in the 2025-26 season with the promotion of contemporary Spanish drama in Europe through the fourth edition of the European Drama Residencies. In collaboration with Acción Cultural Española and the Residencia de Estudiantes, and together with the Actoral festival in Marseille, the Koninklijke Vlaamse Schouwburg (KVS) in Brussels, the Lietuvos Nacionalinis Dramos Teatras or Lithuanian National Theatre in Vilnius, and the Zagrebačko Kazalište Mladih or Youth Theatre (ZKM) in Zagreb, this programme aims to have European playwrights selected by the organising institutions write a play under the theme More than human.
During the writing process, the group of residents will be supported by the artistic team of each theatre and other creative collaborations, meeting periodically to share their progress and research. Throughout the process, which will run from March to November 2026, those selected by the theatres will make four one-week international stays in Brussels, Madrid, Vilnius and Marseille respectively, fostering dialogue with professionals in the sector who will provide feedback on the writing process.
